Cell phones have become a compulsion in the contemporary scenario. There was a time when they were considered a luxury, but perceptions have changed now. The opportunity to keep in touch with family, friends, relatives, colleagues and easy access to email are some of the reasons behind their popularity. The advanced phones could also be used for storing data, taking pictures, listening to music apart from their primary function of making and receiving calls. But it is up to the customer to decide whether these schemes are beneficial for him or not. This blog discusses the various advantages and disadvantages of prepaid Cell phones.

Advantages :

  • In case of prepaid packages no deposits or monthly rental fees need to be made.
  • No termination fee is charged by the companies. 
  • You can easily keep in control the call costs.

Disadvantages :

  • The calls and SMS text will cost more per minute in case of prepaid bills when compared to postpaid bills.
  • You might run out of credit at a crucial juncture or during emergency in case of prepaid bills.
  • Another disadvantage of prepaid services is that they are generally applicable for a particular period of time.
